艾娃·格洛弗

Ava is a program specialist in the  D.C. 酒吧 公益性服务 Center’s housing practice. In this position, she conducts intake and connects people with housing concerns to attorneys.

Ava is a graduate of Roanoke College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with minors in Spanish and psychology, as well as a concentration in crime, 变异性, 以及社会控制.

在罗阿诺克的时候, Ava led a research project titled “Missing White Woman Syndrome: How True Crime 播客 Decide the Fate of Missing People in the United States.” The research focuses on the ethical implications of deriving entertainment from stories about murder and how racial relations in America have led to massive disparities in news coverage.

During her free time at Roanoke College, Ava was involved with Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity on campus. During her service with the organization, she served as the diversity, 股本, 以及包容性主席, bridging the gap between students and the Roanoke community to improve mutual understanding.

Prior to joining the 公益性服务 Center, Ava interned with the District of Columbia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and Kate’s Place, a daytime care facility for disabled adults in Roanoke.
